"Suppose there are two sons of one father, and one son obeys his father. He follows the path of his father. Suppose this father was a very saintly person. Then, that son becomes a saintly person. But the other son — who does not know and does not obey — does not follow the path of his father. He will go to hell. The son who followed his father goes to heaven. "Similarly, whether we know it or not, we are sons and daughters of God. But I do not say daughters particularly because the soul has no gender. It is neither a male nor female. So, we call the soul a child of God. I hear some say, ‘Jesus is the son of God, the only son of God.’ Am I not the son of God, too? And, can a woman not be the son of God, too? So, we Hindus say we are children of God." |
